Navy Lt. (Dr.) Janel Takahashi, NHCP OB/GYN Clinic
My doctor is fantastic. Isn't she the cutest ever? I am so glad she doesn't read my blog. She would BLUSH if she saw this part! HaHa.
It's true, she's such a sweet, caring, calm, patient (remember she has to put up with me--haha), and a very thorough doctor. I feel so blessed to have chosen her as my doctor. It just feels right.
When I went to the hospital to sign up for my first OB appointment, I looked at the wall of doctors posted on the bulletin board, wrote down the names, made a mental note of the photos and went home that night and prayed for guidance on which doctor to choose. My main reason for taking my time on deciding which doctor to choose were many factors.
I wanted a doctor that would see me the entire pregnancy and deliver my baby. I also wanted a doctor that wouldn't get deployed midway through my pregnancy or just push me off on the next staff member on the list.
I honestly feel like I hit the jackpot with her. She did her homework on my previous medical history and was very knowledgeable of what it would entail to ensure a successful pregnancy journey. How awesome is that?
I remember my first visit, she walks in and introduces herself and gave me the biggest hug. Of course my husband said it must be a woman thing, but, for me, it sealed the deal. Since the first day, until now, she's always been very warm and reassuring. Awwwwwwww...so sweet, I know!
I remember asking if she would be on vacation around my due date and would she see me through the end. She laughed and assured me she would. Might not make sense to most but, for me, it was only right!
Needless to say, I am THRILLED to have chosen such an amazing doctor. When I tell people (that are familiar with the hospital staff) who I have chosen as my doctor, they all say in unison I made the RIGHT decision! What a relief!
So, that tells me, I've done something right!
I really wanted to show everyone a photo of my AMAZING doctor and ask for your prayers, thoughts, support and more as this journey of my pregnancy comes to the finish line and the start of a beautiful blessed event will begin very shortly.
Please, keep us in your prayers on delivery day. I will be back as soon as possible to post the updates.
