The Family Bed is NOT A FUN TIME for MOMMA!

Co-sleeping is not the business up in this house.  I'm sorry but, I am OVER it.  We don't have a HUGE california king size bed, we are working with a queen.  One day we will graduate to a huge bed but, for now, the kids need to be in their own rooms and their own beds.
I woke up this morning with a crook in my neck.  I sat up in bed only to realize, the baby and 5 year old were in the bed with us.  How did I sleep through all of this?  When did these babies get into the bed with us?  I know that I'm a hard sleeper but, come on now.  I kind of remembered nursing baby girl and then I thought I rolled over to put her in the bassinet near our bed.  I guess that never really happened.
I had to drink TWO cups of coffee and stretch out myself to get my body right.
My husband thought is was so sweet that we were all in the bed together.
Daddy, 5 year old, 6 month baby and Mommy all up in a Queen sized bed????
NO THANK YOU.
My friend has this funny saying when she hears or experiences something that she isn't happy about and I am going to use it right now:
Say what now?  OH HELL NO!<<---I crack up every single time I hear her say it.

  1. That's no joke. We were working with a queen sized bed too when the kids were younger and it didn't help that Alyssa especially kicks and rolls on top of you. Christopher scooted and scooted up under you until he pushed you off the bed. Very uncomfortable which is probably why most nights I ended up on the comfy sofa ALONE.

Now we finally upgraded to a Cali King and it's a huge difference. You'll still get kicked and rolled on but there is room to push the little buggers away.

  2. I know how you feel. It's so unfair! We have a KING mattress which I share with T2. Then a single mattress beside the KING, that Tee sleeps on. And then beside the single mattress, we have a single MAT, that the poor Hubs sleeps on. There is no more floor left in our bedroom. And sometimes we wonder how it is that a 3 mth old baby gets to take up three quarters of a KING sized mattress!!! Whilst the 3 of the rest of us snuggle up close far, far away from her! LOL!!!

  3. I have a king-sized bed but I am one of those aw hell naw when it comes to the family bed. Each person has their own room/bed. period. I'm so mean I know! Now we do all get in there on a Saturday morning to be cute but then I send everyone along their way. I sound so evil...

  4. A baby's foot in your back is no joke. LOL. My grandma said when I was in the hospital not to let a baby sleep with you in your bed, it is so hard to break. Whew! Had a flashback. Even asleep they have radar scooting and scooting everytime you move. LOL.
