Drastic Changes all up in here!

Six days ago, I made a very drastic decision along with the support of daddy and big sister of course. The decision has ultimately changed my life all together. I can honestly say, there's been no change in big sister (it never affected her in the beginning) but, as far as daddy is concerned all he could say was.......IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!!

Well...without any further guesswork on your part. I'll confess that DJ has been sleeping in his OWN room and his OWN bed for the past SIX days now. How exciting is this?

I have to admit that I CRIED harder than he did and it has affected me more ways than I can ever describe. I KNEW it was TIME for him to move into his own room, bed, etc...I just couldn't figure out WHEN and HOW.

It had to be a DRASTIC move. I tried the gradual technique and he was in the bed with us at 3am so many days I lost count. Soooooooooooooooooo where does this leave us now? Who knows, I just know that Momma's happy because for the first time in a loooooooooooong time, I haven't shared it with TWO men.

Now, I only have ONE man poking me in the ribcage and grabbing my "boobas" in bed.

p.s. this is what I found during today's nap though soooooooooooooooooo my question to you is....Am I supposed to pick him up and put him in bed OR just leave him there?

So sweet! I love pictures of sleeping kids! Way to go, and congrats on DJ getting his own room, and you all sleeping in your own beds.

I know it'll be hard when it comes my turn!

In regards to him sleeping on the floor, I would just let him be. Unless you think you can transfer him to his bed, I think he's fine on the floor. Let sleeping babies lie! lol

Way to go getting him to his own bed! Having just won the paci battle at our house, I know how proud you must feel!

On the floor? Leave him be. Never move a sleeping baby unless you absolutely have to.

Congrats to you and DJ!!!!

I have always thought...let sleeping kids lie!

I never disturb Becca unless absolutely necessary!!

Leave him girl. I went through that same thing when Christopher started climbing out the crib which was at an early age. It didn't stop either when we converted the crib to the toddler bed.

You know what I did, I put a comforter on the floor so he could get comfy. I would leave him in his room on the bed and come to find him usually up against the door in his room. He'll be fine. He's sleeping isn't he and that what matters.

The converted crib only lasted a few weeks and we basically skipped it entirely and went to a twin sized bed. The day we brought the big boy bed in his room was the day he stopped sleeping on the floor. it's weird, maybe he felt like a big boy.
For the 1st few weeks in his twin sized bed I laid to comforters on the floor in case he rolled off. I didn't bother to buy the rails. You know what he rolled of twice and that was it.

Good Luck.

I totally understand. H is sleeping in our bed b/c he wakes up in his co-sleeper. So instead of just sticking him over in the nursery by himself, we've moving the crib into our bedroom. I think he's safer in his own bed but he's still too little to be so far away, IMO. And I'm also sick of people who sneer at me when I say he sleeps beside our bed. You have to do what's best for you & for him.

They're only little for such a short time. Don't feel too bad that he's becoming a big boy. He still needs for all kinds of other stuff. I cried more when Z put her foot in her mouth the first time than I did when she was born ;)

LOL! What was the secret!? I am looking forward to that day!

I would leave DJ where he is when you find him like that! J sleeps in all sorts of places and positions but I am usually so happy he is sleeping that I just leave him be!

It's unanimous. Never wake a sleeping baby.

That's my number 2 rule.

Number 1. If I ever become an interfering mil, just shoot me.

Granny!!! you crack me up. That was a good one. (MIL)

Hmmm, i guess it depends on where it is and how long he's been asleep, lol. If he's in the middle of my living room floor where I have friends coming and going on a constant basis, then I'll plop him on the sofa. If he's in his bedroom, or has been asleep for awhile, I'll just let him sleep, usually. If he JUST fell asleep, he goes in the crib (yes, my son still sleeps in a crib), but my son sleeps like the dead, if you have a light sleeper, lol, DON'T MOVE HIM!

I have to say leave him on the floor. If he's sleeping and he's happy then let him do his thing. :)

Oh, he is TOO cute. You are supposed to do the following:

1. Pick him up
2. Bring him to me
3. Let me shower him with hugs and kisses

What an adorable family! I'm going to look around some more, but I was wondering, what does the Brown Blogging Mommies do for you? You're obviously a member and this the the 5th or 6th time I've seen that! I'll come back here to check the answer.

Too cute!!! Congrats on getting him into his own bed. I'd definitely let him sleep on the floor, he's still young with limber bones and joints it certainly won't hurt him to sleep there.

Hi MochaMom,

I can't remember exactly how I got hooked up with the brown blogging mommies. I think someone sent me the link and I put it in my template. I can't even figure out how it all works. If you know something I don't, Please!!!! give me the 411. Also, if there are some blogs out there that are interesting, please, send them my way too.

Thanks.

Yeah let sleeping babies lie!!!! My oldest does that sometimes and it's just better to let her stay, she dosn't seem to mind.
the trick with her was the big bed... she prefered that to the toddler bed,no matter how many times she falls out she want's that big people bed:)

I think it will still be several more months for me before Bean is in his own bed all night. Congrats to you! I know it was hard. :)

If I ever found Cody sleeping on the floor, I would leave that boy be and do some kind of happy dance. My child has yet to doze off on the floor.

Congrats on DJ sleeping in his own bed. We're still struggling with this one. It's on again off again in our house.
