watermelon and a new friend

Hi Everyone!

Darrin's in Iraq. We've been trying to figure out our time schedule to get on the yahoo messenger/webcam. Thank Goodness for modern technology. Now if we can only figure out the timezones (when he's awake/when I'm awake) and near our computers. It will work out.

Until then, thought I'd let everyone know how we're doing in California.

Miss Danyelle's still working hard, going to school. Took her test online the other night. Whatever happened to the No. 2 pencils and Scantrons! Am I dating myself? Hope not.

Mr. DJ has been super busy with playgroups, parkdays, and most of all we went to a Hawaiian Themed party yesterday.
He looked super cute (as always) and he even made a new friend. Are you shocked? Probably not. Well, his name is Christian, he's 7 and he was sooooo nice to DJ. He played with DJ the entire time.

They took turns throwing each other the ball, dancing to music, drinking out of the same juice box (don't worry I didn't stress out), DJ ate two slices of watermelon, they had so much fun hitting balloons up in the air, and eating chips and salsa. DJ promptly spit out the salsa (too many spices) but, overall he had a good time.

The food was YUUUUUMY! Meatballs, Rice, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and more! And they made my favorite. I suspect they did it especially for me. Probably not but, I'd like to believe that. So here goes: They made a pineapple upside down cake. 2 of them to be exact! YUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMM.

Danyelle's at work today, DJ and I are going to a safety carnival day at the local car dealership. Free stuff, Yeahhhhh :)

Have a great week everyone! Please!!! respond, let me know how you're doing on your side of the world. I need to know :)

Well I am not doing so good. Having one of those emotional mommy moments. Sorry I can't bring great news to brighten your day :-( I'm sure I'll feel a lot better after I drink a couple of shots here. It should help me sleep too.

All is well here. I am preparing to enjoy a rare day off. Nick and I are spending a 'special day' together while Drew is at school. On the schedule is a picnic, and planting some fall flowers, and a run to the store for some stuff we forgot yesterday. Oh, and a big nap--for both of us!

A quiet time here. It is now around 8:30 p.m. in Iraq (11 hours later) if you haven't already figured it out. (I bet you have).

I'm listening to music on the computer and catching up on friends. (in between laundry and checking on the pork tri-tip that will become chili verde for dinner.

Hugs - take care of yourself.

Hey girl! We're alive and roasting out here in the desert. I start school on the 25th to finish my degree. Will just finished FSIC and is back to picking up classes. Tyler is a super-cute charmer as always. He's always doing something to crack us up, like his pretend workouts. He grabs the chin up bar and says "Up, down, up down... MUSCLES!" It's too funny. I'll send pictures soon!

Good that you are keeping busy. That is the key isn't it? I am so impressed that you can keep your chin up through it all. God bless you and your precious family.
