I don't know if this would help, but at Target or Wal-mart there are mirrors you can attach to your rear-view mirror and get more of a view of your son in his car seat in the back. When my nephew was 3 he was sitting by the door and actually opened it, totally freaked me out, we were luckily at a stop sign, after that he was seated in the middle.

Anonymous--We have childproof locks for the rear door (thank the lawd for that)-----. I was told by the traffic school instructor *yes, i have speeding issues too*--he said, the middle of the car in the back is the worst place to put a kid. what if you get into a car accident and something goes thru the front window. see????? tons of things to drive us parents bonkers! hugs to you too :)

One day I heard, Buckle me Mama!I looked back and he was unbuckled!
I knew I snapped it...but I guess it didn't take. Opps.
And sorry about the petting zoo story lol, my hubby gets freaked out now if my son touches a cat now lol.

LOL! Lemme tell you about the time that . . .

We were drivng down the freeway and all I hear from the back seat in a sing-songy little voice is "I na bucky up, I na bucky up, I na bucky up." As mothers (okay, I) often do, I drove on ignoring the little voice from the back.

And then. I looked in the rear view mirror and saw her just holding on to her car seat, not buckled up AT ALL, still singing "I na bucky up." Ohhhhh. What I thought was some cute children's song she'd somehow learned was the baby - about 23 months old at the time - telling her Mama that she wasn't buckled up.

My bad!
