He's 3 now. Isn't this a game for infants or something?
Ok never mind. Well, now when he gets his tantrums which are very frequent on every day that ends in "Y"--I always say, "where's DJ?" I have NO IDEA why this makes him stop and giggle but, it does. Hey, anything to keep him from that "whiny" crying that he's learned to love to do so well.
Here's the deal, I know as moms we're supposed to have a billion trillion gazillion patient genes running through our veins but, I have to admit, I don't. The sound of my son whining literally makes me want to pull my hair weave out the socket.
I honestly do not possess the ability to be able to handle tantrums without feeling super sorry for this kid and get down on my knees in front of him and say, where's DJ? just so I can get him to stop. I'm sure Nanny 911 has a long list of reasons why the path I'm going down is a set up for failure. Well, I have one word for her, phooey! I'm doing the best I can do. And that's all that really matters at the end of the day.

Hahahaha! Hilarious! Patient genes?? I dont think I got my shipment yet?
I "praise" my kids all the time. Candy, toys, money, small price to pay for a moment of peace. When I see all the smiles from your family one can only assume all the good you're doing outweighs the "praise" any day so keep on keeping on.
What kind of mother are you - bribing your kids just to watch TV??? Remind me never to buy YOUR parenting book.
I'm totally kidding of course as my 5 year old is enjoying extra sugar in his hot cereal right now as I'm on the computer reading the blogs.
Girl, my daughter is right in the midst of loving peekaboo too! And she's three as well - I'm hoping it'll have lost some of its excitement by four??
And that patient gene? Must be very recessive - I don't know anyone with it :)
I wasn't blessed with those ummm patient genes myself so don't feel bad :-).
LOL @ "it was the best 4 minutes of my life"...
They don't make gum like they used to hunh?!?!?!
This is such a funny realistic post. My girlfriend and I just had this conversation the other day. I said, yeah we would all like to believe that we can withstand the crying jabs that over come our kids but the truth is sometimes we have to give in for sanity's sake.

Hahaha!! Tee does that too - do the peekaboo thing & she finds it totally hilarious. *yawn* plus I bribe her all the time as I dont have those patience genes either, funny cuz my Mom has LOADS of it.
I hear ya! I told my daughter last night, "I'm loosing my patience!" She doesn't get it, but notices the change of tone in my voice.
he kept quiet for 4 minutes off of one piece? Next time try half the pack! LOL!!!
LOL! You know I am a firm beleiver in the gum, that is what got Gavin potty trained.
Ha, ha. You know they whine for a reason, right? They whine because it drives us five kinds of crazy. I have to tell Cody I can't understand whinese and he has to talk like us.
