My daughter announces that she's going to take DJ with her to Max's music studio. He's a music teacher and his specialty is the guitar. After seeing my post on DJ and his guitar, he was so excited to get a chance to meet my son in person. Anyways...I jumped up with excitement to get him ready to go and hang out with his big sister and her friends!

Total time it took me to get him bathed, dressed and diaper bag ready!

Total peace and quiet I was given by the best sister in the world!
At first, I didn't know what to do wtih myself. I sat in the living room surfing the net then I immediately jumped up and decided to make the most of my FREE time.
I went to get a pedicure, ate lunch and came home and got under the covers with a HUGE bowl of icecream (damn my diet) and watched HGTV all by myself. I even cleaned off the fingerprints off the screen for maximum viewing!
So the next time someone asks why the big age difference in my kids (yes there are still people in this world who ask the most inappropriate questions),--- I can smile and say....hey, when I need some time off, I don't have to go out and hire a babysitter!---I have the best daughter in the world who actually HELPs me! Hah!
The best part, once they came home, she made sure he ate, gave him a bath and put him to bed too! All without me asking her to do it. You can't beat that with a bat any day of the week!!!!
Thank you Danyelle my dear first born for knowing that I desperately needed some ME time! I guess the fact that I've been walking around mumbling to myself and frantically cleaning the same spot for the past three days was a clue that mom was on the verge of losing her marbles!

Isn't free time the best? Especially when you are at your own home, all by yourself. It's the best free time. Hope you had a great pedicure.

You know what I tell people? You either have them very close together or you wait until one of them is old enough to babysit. They probably think I am joking but I am dead serious. Anything in between creates conflict between the siblings.

I need one of those too. My kids are old enough to help quite a bit but they're not as good as your babysitter. Vacations at home are always the best!
