A day in the life.

A few months ago, DJ and I took a road trip down to La Jolla. It wasn't planned, it was one of those really bright sunny days and I was trying to find the Apple Store in UTC and took a detour on the way home. Needless to say it was a great day!

We met a woman and her son playing soccer and DJ runs up to them and says soccer ball! MINE!
I apologized and began to walk away with my son in my tight grip. The woman says, here you can have this one, we have another one! So...this is where the fun begins...

Her son (age 7) was so nice to DJ. He ran and played wiith him while the moms had a chat session. This is where I began to explain this stage (age 2) she says don't worry, it gets better. Just guide him through this stage, be consistent and you'll be fine. She was a really nice woman. So, after chatting for a bit, it was time for them to leave. She gave DJ their extra football and said he could have it. They have tons more at home.

Wow, thanks!!!!!

Then DJ had fun chasing the pidgeons.

He even ran into a puddle of MUD. Notice the USED to be WHITE shoes.

I left the shoes in the stall. I didn't want to deal with it. $26 down the drain!

On the way back to the car, we passed this mouth blown glass store. I know, mouth blown sounds sooooo well....nevermind.
Back to the story--The owner says hello in the sweetest voice you would say hello to a little kid. You know the sing songy type of Helllllooooo. We stopped to say hello and asked how hold he was, his name you know the usual stuff. She says, wait here, I'll be right back. This is when my son decided he wanted to get out the stroller and go with her. UMMMMMMMM a toddler on the loose in a GLASS shop? I think not! She comes back with a white box and said here, this is for DJ. Open it when you get home. It's fragile. I asked for her name and business card (you know so i could take a pic of him with his gifts and send her a thank you card) Well, she would NOT hear of it. She said don't worry about all that. Just enjoy.

So to the nice glass shop owner we met a few months ago, Thank you! DJ loves the gifts. A glass turtle and rabbit.----He's not allowed to run around with them. Well, you know, because they're fragile.

Here's a pic of him attempting to take it with him to church. First the firetruck hat incident now the glass rabbit.

It's a wonderful place to "receive" the blessings of life. So many folk miss out on that.

Oh, no you didn't leave his dirty shoes behind in the bathroom stall?!

I guess in your own way you had paid forward the day's blessings.

The lucky parent who found them must have said something like, "Dang dirty NEW sneakers for my kid!"
