Day Friends

What a great day! My friend asked me to keep her daughter for the day while she worked. I was EAGER to do it. She is a sweet girl. Very mannerable and she kept DJ in check the entire day. Honestly, I was sad to see her leave. Made me wish DJ had a sibling that close in age. Awwww....

Needless to say, we had a fun filled day! Library, Indoor playground, Arts and Crafts at the house and my favorite part, my son took a 3 hour nap and ate all his food. OMG! it's true. I had to take a picture and put a mirror under his nose to make sure he was breathing! HaH! He followed her the entire day and wanted to do everything she did. I wonder if I can talk her parents into having her move in for a few weeks. I sent her mom an email and she hasn't returned it. yet. I guess that was a bit stalkerish on my part huh? *i know.i know* Gotta love me.

Here's a slideshow of the fun. I'd like to thank the person who hooked me onto Picasa. I love it! Love it. It reads ALL your photos on your computer and organizes it. Kinda scary to give a program that much freedom all up in your files but, hey, it's no different than shopping online I guess!?! Anything to make my life easier I say! I'm still learning. If you're a Picasa Pro, email me the tips! Thanks!

Question: What are your kids age difference? Have you ever watched a friend's kid? If so, did you find yourself being super extra careful more so with that kid than your own? And Why?

Looks like a really fun day. :) And yes, I love Picasa too! I have been using it since it launched. My kids are 18 months apart and I can see already that they are going to be the best of friends. I feel blessed to have them both. God knew what our family needed.

I have watched friends' kids before and I hate it. Most of them are VERY spoiled and bratty. We do have one friend that her daughter has become my third child and my two girls' sister.
The kids looked like they had a blast! Isn't it so great to be a SAHM that you can do what you do?!

My kids are 18 months apart and they adore each other. They really don't fight much at all. But they sure can get into trouble.

My favorite is when Mark keeps trying to tell Abby what to do(like stop sucking her thumb) because big boys don't to that! LOL

Looks like they had tons of fun together. I love Picasa and use it for editing all my pictures.
Connor is our only child and while I love seeing hime with other kids it's hard for me to think of having another one, just yet. I don't offer to babysit and I don't ask for anyone (other than my mom)to babysit for me. I know, it sounds awful, but I don't really want to be responsible for someone's kid, especially if they're anal like me

lol..i have huge age difference in my two sons ages. 15-4 11 yrs

I always have been the uncle or cousin to some of my friends kids. It surely helped me keep him preoccupied and they could wear each other out playing.

I found that i was pretty extra careful when I had someone else's kid.

My kids are 18 months apart, but can't play together yet since the youngest is only 5 weeks!

I've never babysat a day in my life. I don't really ever want to, but I'd watch a friends kids in a pinch.

Funny about the mirror to make sure he was breathing! I've done the same thing!

How fun!!
My oldest 3 are 16 months apart. I love having my kids close and we did that on purpose. Then 4 years later I had the twins so they came in a package! 2 years later we adopted Preston and we have our papers in to adopt again. I'm not sure when this next son/daughter will come, but I'm hoping sooner than later. My kids have always been good friends and into the same things at the same time. ( they fight too)
and yes, when I watch other peoples kids I am extra careful... I just feel more weight of responsibility and I don't want anything to happen! I want them returned the way they were dropped off and with a smile!!

Delurking to ask: Does Picasa alter already made folders in your computer...I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if it will take folders that I have already made and change them into something else or leave them intact and just copy the pictures from them...not sure if that is clear...I guess I'm afraid of messing up my already organized folders and would like to have both, my folders and whatever Picasa does...is that possible? Did I confuse everyone?LOL Thanks for the help

BTW...really enjoy your blog. We are a transracial family too but my daughter is almost NINE...years are just flying by!

Tanyetta I swear we truely were separated at birth. I used to love having my god daughters come over and watched them several summers. I honestly wanted to pay their mom instead of the reverse because not only did they fully occupy EBoy every day, but they singlehandedly taught him how to share, be nice to others, and become a well rounded sociable kid. It's always a joy to get to care for the calm, well behaved children of friends because they tend to pass their traits on to others.
