coupons are the devil

I received a FREE 8X10 photo coupon in the mail from Picture People.

I decided to take a trip to the mall to get my son's 3rd birthday photos taken.

Why were all the photos super cute and they make it so hard to just walk out of the studio with just the FREE photo?

I couldn't make up my mind. I asked if they could email the photos to me, I have to go home and study each photo because ONE just wouldn't do it for me.

Needless to say, I took my free 8X10 but, could NOT resist ordering the photo sheet. Why in the world does 10 wallets cost $16.00. And why in the world did I buy them? Please don't bother answering that. I know the answer. Because they're crazy and because I'm crazy for buying them.

My goodness, a sucker is born everyday. I'm one of them.

Anyway, I can't wait to see the photos on email, you know so I can order more and then shake my head even harder. HaHa.

I think I'm going to stick to taking my own photos in our backyard. They're so much cheaper and there's no hidden sitting fees either!

Question: Are you guilty of paying big $$ for professional photos? Where do you usually go for your family portraits?

I hear ya! But you can't help it if your kid is super cute and photogenic!

I blew close to $300 each on my girls' grad pics and that was the cheapest package. I pay .40 cents for 4 wallets at Costco!

I am the same as you! I can never just buy one picture and I end up buying too many... but they are so cute and I know it will be worth it when the kids are grown and all we have left is the pictures!

I know! how do you just pick a couple? I always, always overbuy, they know this though, they are counting on it actually.

DJ looks so big! does he know that I have an almost 4-yr-old? does he like older women yet? she's kinda bossy but she does a great karate kick. Little boys seem to like that in a girl..lol

Awww....just once, just once!!! I've never had Tee's pics taken professionally but intend to soon, JUST ONCE!!! But I must say, I take pretty OK photos myself, since I'm an architect and have an eye for detail. Ahem...

However, she's had photos taken professionally twice by separate photographers for free cuz' they couldn't resist and asked us if they could please, please do a photo shoot on her for their portfolio. We got some free prints off those, which were cool.

Aww the pictures came out so cute! I don't do professional. The last professional photos I took were in 2002 with Greg and they weren't even all that professional. We went to this place called Magic Photos, you know the low budget studios in the mall with all the ghetto backgrounds? We bought ALL poses. Suckers we were.

I am guilty!! For my oldest I always went to Kiddie Kandids and paid $60-$100 for pictures. Then I had another kid and we went to JC Penny for $30 or less.

And then I had another kid and another and soon I'll have other, but every now and then, I go to Kiddie Kandids and pay up for some seriously good pics!

Those are cuuuuuuuute pictures and worth the $$.

Tanyetta, your son is ADORABLE! Surely you didn't think you'd actually be able to walk out of there with just one photo?! Both are beyond cute...I couldn't have chosen either...one's playful, the other serious...clearly, you had to have both!
