Voting polls and a 3 year old that missed his nap.

I know, I know, I'm nuts. I took my 3 year old with me to vote. GASP~  I know I was pushing it because he was over due for a nap, it started off really nice, he smiled here

and once we started walking towards the place, he started crying because he thought he was going to church school (the voting place is at the church around the corner) then, he GROWLED at the Voting Sticker Lady.  Isn't he so cute and sweet.  *sigh*

Then, he had a FIT because he wanted to be the one to put the ballot in the box and more.
I had to catch my ballot and let him put it in for me.  He's so helpful like that.

On our way out the door, he saw a poster of vegetables.  You know the one (the usda tree) he pointed out all the vegetables and this lady walking past thought it was quite impressive that he knew all his vegetables.  He's so smart like that.  Once we got to the car, buckled him in, and got on our way, I look up in the rearview mirror and he's sawing logs.

Poor Guy, he was so tired.  I was thinking of waking him up to explain to him how he just took part in history, there was a time when we weren't even able to do this.  I decided to just let it go.  I beamed on my way home thinking that my vote really did make a difference.  The pride and joy of it all makes me all fuzzy inside.

Of course my daughter and husband proudly stated they had NO problems when they went to vote. They're always bragging how sweet DJ is when they go places with them. Maybe they're lying? Why are they trying to kill my soul?  Why can't they just leave me to my happy thoughts.

My 2 year old growls at us too. Hysterical.

You have got to keep that picture to show him when he turns 18 and votes for the first time. Then let him know about his "historical contribution" to the voting process when he was only three.

i LOVE the picture of the growling child. He is too cute, but I think I've said that before ;)

I used to have a growler... as embarrassing as the child is, you have to laugh at the growls. ha

If you had NOT caught that ballot and let him put it in...dare I SAY? Kids can get so worked up over stuff like that! I have a 2½year old old and 15 year old twins and I KNOW it is like starting all over! Gina

So cute. Luckily it sounds like you didn't have to wait as long to vote as I did. I waited an hour and twenty minutes. I even took the baby with me. I worried that this would be a mistake, but he slept in his stroller and I was happy about that.

That first picture looks like a forced smile! ;)

I took my daughter too, but she didn't do the cranky stuff until an hour later after her dance class, and by then naptime had come and gone.

Oh, well some days we need to do it like that!

I loved this post :) Your son is so adorable!!!!!!!
Even while growling.

I came over to lurk because I LOVED your comment on Celia's frienemy post!

So now, I am going to confess that I am going to lurk all over your blog...

I laughed at "why do they try to kill my soul". I feel that way, too. My 4 year old is ALWAYS better behaved for my husband. I should be grateful but, sometimes it makes me so mad I don't know where to spit! *Phew* calm down, Lauren...I got a little excited there for a minute...sorry.

Ha, ha, he has got a serious look going on in that picture where that lady is putting on his sticker. I love it.

It's good you take him to the polls though, I do the same thing. And it never fails the workers don't want me to take Cody in the booth, scared he'll accidently push a button.
