Freeze dancing and a missed photo opportunity on purpose.

I've mentioned quite a few times about how much I appreciate my daughter. I know there are some days she would rather poke her eyes out than to hear my mouth. Ah, such is life.

There are certain truths that exist that always confirm she will always be the best 'mom' to DJ than I could ever dream of being. And I am ok with it. For instance, when she keeps her brother while we go on our date nights, the house is always clean, he's fed and in bed when we return home. I would like to know what her secret is but, she often says it would cost me a boat load of money. Maybe one of you can pry the secrets from her and funnel them my way. Hah.

When she's home, I cease to exist in my son's eyes. Hey, he's with me all day, he's relieved to hang out with someone other than the lady that hovers over him while he goes potty or brush his teeth.

I was straightening up the living room and noticed that the house was QUIET. I looked around the house and didn't see DJ or his sister. I went out to the garage and found them freeze dancing to the tunes on the radio.

It was the cutest sight ever. I wanted to catch it on film, take a picture or something. I decided NOT to and just let them enjoy the moment.

It gave me the best feeling ever. DJ was in charge of course. A few dance moves then he shouts FREEZE. More dance moves then he shouts FREEZE again. His giggling and twirling made for such a great shot. I tiptoed back in the house and closed the door.

Turned on the computer and decided to journal it. Sometimes, a photo will just spoil the moment. It's best to just let things happen and go with it. I'm so thankful for the best daughter in the world and how much she loves her brother brings so much peace to my world.

Well that is very sweet and a good choice on your part to just let them do their thing with no 'flashing lights'. I look forward to those moments with my kids when William gets older. They already are all over him! Danyelle is a wonderful big sis!

Your daughter does sound amazing and so fun! As a mom, it's always so neat to see your kids having fun together- I think it was a good idea to just tip toe away and let them have their fun- what a neat moment to remember!

I would have loved to hang out with you too Tanyetta! next time we go there, let's plan something!

You know I love me some DJ and I think the girlie-girl is so pretty (Danyelle). You are such a lucky lady.

awww..that was sweet and you're right..sometimes pictures aren't needed. It's so good she takes an interest in him, because I was speaking to a coworker, and she told me she had no interest in her younger sibling at all, because she was out of the house when she was born. I thought that was strange and couldn't imagine being that way to my younger brother. Different strokes I guess...

Thanks for the bday wishes!

I think you did the right thing by letting them be in the moment.

My daughter and I will freeze dance anywhere, including the stores. We're crazy like that!
