There's a new 'crew' forming in town.
It's a soccer team for toddlers. A parent and me soccer team. Yes, this means you will have to run up and down the field WITH your child. Not a bad idea since I could use to lose a few more pounds. Moving on.
The cost: $84 for 8 half hour sessions. I'm thinking it would probably take about 15 minutes just to get a group of 20 toddlers to line up. Leaving 15 minutes of play time. Ah, yeah, please count me out.
Now, I know what you might be thinking, wow, that's a bargain, you should totally go for it.
Well, I'm not thinking that. I'm thinking of inviting some 'broke' moms out to the local park and have our kids kick a ball around. We could pick up some of those orange cones from the Dollar Tree or take turns holding up a sheet (you can stop giggling) and using that as a goal.
What? Sounds too frugal?
Well, the way I see it, he's 3. As much as I would LOVE to go with the cool crowd and sign my son up for a kiddie soccer team, I'm going to bow out this time and take the frugal route.
Hey, we have TFC, I'm sure we can form a wearetoofrugaltopayeightyfourdollars team.
How about it?
Do you have a toddler?
Come on down. We'd love to have you.
So far, we have one player on the team.
Hurry, the spaces are filling up quickly. Ok, that's not entirely true but, you have to admit the sense of urgency is very obvious.
Question: Are your kids (or family members) in any sports? Which sport? At what age did they begin playing sports?

Count us in! Just tell me when and where. I am sure I can make a goal post with some sticks and some cloth :-) I'm not running with the kids though.
That sounds like an awesome idea. I'm sure you'll find some other Moms who are thinking the same way.
My youngest nephew is 11 and I think he's been playing football since he was 6 or 7. He also plays lacrosse now. His sister is 9 and she's been horseback riding (can't think of the fancy term right now) for almost 5 years. I don't know how their parents find the energy.
You are a smart lady Tanyetta because that is exactly what I would do! Asking money for toddler/preschool sports is a joke because you are right, you could do it for free.
We didn't sign up our oldest son for sports (t-ball)until he was in kindergarten and first grade for basketball (although I will tell you that it was a joke, we're going to try basketball again in 3rd or 4th grade).
My boys play football, basketball and baseball. Their dad keeps them involved in sports and they love it. Last year my sister and I joined an adult kickball city league. That was fun!
I'm loving your idea.
Dollar Tree is the bomb! Plenty of stuff in there to keep kids busy!
joey and I would sooo totally be there if we lived closer!! LOL! I have no idea about all these activities and no idea where to start!
I started playing sports at 3. Joined league sports when I was 5. My nieces are on a lil league football and baseball team. My lil nephews are musicians not athletes.
umm, we'd be there if the boys were younger, and dad wasn't bent on having his children win scholarships... sigh.
Jaden is in baseball, dad is sure it's his protege. $210.
James is signed up for football. James is sure he will go NFL... $260 this year.
Ouch.
I would totally join you if I was there. Tee has started playing some badminton but that's about it so far. She tried some basketball but kept missing.....
I signed my baby up for Tiny Tee-ball. It consists of two and three year olds. it's his first year and he loves it.
They listen to their coach I wold say about 75% of the time they are out there praticing. (no games yet, keep getting rained out)
excellent idea!!! i'm down! lol
Funny! I think you're being intentional with those eighty dollars you haven't spent yet.
