Remember my sweet friend Deedra? Well, she and her family received some very disappointing news regarding the pending adoption. Turns out the birth father has decided to CHANGE HIS MIND regarding signing the documents.
She did what only Deedra would do, she reached out to her friends and called us to come together to have desserts and to share what God is placing on our hearts.
She sent the following email:
Hi Family, MOPS friends, Bible study friends, and all...
I have terribly disappointing news. After months of working closely with our birthmom, our birth dad has changed his mind and refused to sign the papers on Tuesday.

This is a great loss for us, and for our birthmom. She will not be coming for a visit at this time.
Please please pray for the birth mom as she has to face some very hard things and pray for emotional comfort for her and her daughter.
Pray we can continue to share the love of God with her and that she will be drawn to Him.
So, if anyone wants to join me on Monday night for pazzokie (that's a cookie and ice cream dessert for those who don't know) just email me.

Over ice cream and cookies, we can look forward to all the amazing things that God has for us in the future....and celebrate life.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Deedra :)
She wanted us to go around the table to share what makes us happy, what things or events we're looking forward to.
In spite of the pain she and her family are experiencing, she chose to rejoice in God's goodness instead of allowing this temporary set back to hinder her from opening up her heart to hear what the Lord has planned for her family.
I sat there in awe listening and watching how no matter what type of pain she's experiencing, she ALWAYS has a smile on her face and is very sincere when she shares her personal struggles with remaining hopeful through it all.
I am so blessed to have met Deedra. She makes me laugh, think and want to be a better person all around.
Once again, we took photos and I'll let you see for yourself, LIGHT follows her where ever she goes. AMAZING!
You're an amazing woman, wife, mother, encourager, friend and more!

Please join me in showering Deedra with extra support of kind, encouraging and supportive words!

ReplyDeletewow, what a positive person she is despite the news. I hope things will work out in the future for her :)
ReplyDeleteThanking God for all things in Deedra's life.
ReplyDeleteShe has the wherewithal to realize that God is most important, and sharing His goodness her prime motivation.
God be with her in these days and in the coming weeks. May His comfort be present and evident through her family and friends. I pray she feels His loving embrace.
God bless Deedra, and all who witness His glory through her testimony.

Giving thanks for unknown blessings already on the way. We just don't see it but He does. Deedra sounds like a wonderful, wonderful friend and I am sooooo stealing that idea LOL!!!! I love that ray of light following her too, she's an earth angel ;-)
ReplyDeleteI had the opportunity to meet Deedra a few weeks ago and she is such a friendly, positive person! I could tell instantly that she is just one of those people that is able to bring so much to the lives of people around her. I'm sorry to hear of this disappointing news. Keep your head up Deedra.
