Stone Soup with a Twist

DJ and his daddy made a Mega Vegetable Tortellini Soup this weekend.
It was some kinda delicious!

After picking up vegetables from the market, we headed home to make the soup.
He really loves to help out in the kitchen.

DJ loves hearing the story of the Stone Soup so, we thought it would be really fun to read this while the soup was simmering on the stove.

This book is actually recommended for children ages 4-8 but, we put a twist on the story and made it really exciting and easy to understand for a 3 year old.
Don't try skipping a page, he knows the sequence of the book
and it's a LONG book but, well worth it.

If you're looking for a really cute story and a way to incorporate fun while cooking with kids,
I highly recommend this book.

Of course daddy pointed out the woman went to get the beef bones from the dog house so, you know I was thrown off a bit but, the story overall was really cute and DJ was so proud of the soup he made with daddy.
I helped too.
Who do you think was taking all the photos? Haha!

DJ's favorite thing to do, Help Daddy!!

Check out DJ. You know he is really concentrating.
We gave him a spatula to use for a knife and he was dead serious about helping.
Peeling garlic, cutting up an onion, his eyes started burning poor baby!
