Daddy was watching me

I feared the day would come. The day every parent dreads but, knows that it's always a possibility. You're hanging out with your kids, having a good time and you decide to blink and your kid falls and this happens:

They chip a tooth. (I think all the parent's in the world just gasped with and for me!)

Oh and of course during their fall, the tooth hits their lips/gums which causes it to bleed and bleed and then the crying comes. The crying doesn't stop and then you realize it's your mommy doing the crying and your son is off to the next adventure.

Ask DJ what happened and he proudly says: I fell and chipped my tooth when daddy was watching me.

And at that very moment, a sense of relief comes over me. It's not my fault that my son fell and chipped his tooth. It's daddy's fault because he was watching the kid.

Thanks DJ; you eased my pain and guilt. Please don't chip anymore teeth. If you decide to, please be sure to do it on daddy's watch. He can handle the sight of blood, I can't. Thanks.

Love, Mom
