We decided to drive to Julian for the day.
The Octoberfest was in full force!
Apple Pies, Showdown at the Corral and more!
My favorite part was the candy basement in the Miner's Diner.
There's all the retro candy from when I was growing up.
Now and Laters (pronounced nowlaters!), Chico Sticks, Boston Baked Beans and more.
I tried to explain to DJ these were my favorite candies when I was growing up and all he cared about were stuffing his little basket with as many treats that his $1.00 could afford.
Needless to say, I've been rationing the sweets to him. He gets to choose a sweet every other day. He has an excellent memory. He checks the bag everyday to make sure all the sweets are still there. I keep telling him that it's OUR bag of goodies. He's not getting it! HaHa!
On the off days, I come up with a reason on why he cannot stuff his face with all the sweets at one time. Today's excuse was: We have to save some for Danyelle.
Tomorrow's excuse....well, we're figure that out when we get there. Hopefully he'll forget all about the sweet snack. Fat Chance!

Candy is a staple here. DJ would be like, "Can I go over to Julia's house?" Nothing is off limits for her, but I do ration the amount.
I can appreciate your motivation to go places with family. Love it!
