Unexpected Conversations with a Toddler.

If you ever call my home, my son is guaranteed to answer the phone unless he's sleeping, eating or on the potty!

It's just the way it is. If he's up and about and the phone rings, he proudly yells, "I'll get it, let me get it" When he answers the phone he says, "Hello who is this?" and this is when the fun begins.

**I always pick up the cordless phone to listen to the conversations**

Here's a few of the random conversations that stand out to me:

Kelli-Hi DJ may I speak to your mommy
DJ: *totally changing the subject* May I speak to mackenna?
Kelli-Sure, hold on
Mackenna-Hi DJ, can you come to my house?
DJ: Yes, I'm coming to your house today. *he always makes promises that he doesn't keep*

Shelly: Hey DJ
DJ: I went to the potty today all by myself. I learned all my words for the day, I'm going outside to play now *he always volunteers information about things you would rather not hear about*
Shellly: Oh, that's really sweet. You're a big boy huh?
DJ: Yes, I'm 3 now. I had my birthday party and I, I, *inaudible words because he's so excited now all the words are running into themselves*

Gramma: Hi DJ! It's your gramma
DJ: Hi Gramma, I know my phone number now you want to hear it?
Gramma: of course!

DJ: Hi Daddy, can you come home soon?
Daddy: Yes, I'll be home soon.
DJ: Are you in Iraq?
Daddy: No, I'm at work. Here in california
DJ: oh, in california? Can you come home now?
Daddy: Yes, buddy, I'll be home soon.
DJ: ok, can we shoot the guns when you get home? mommy won't shoot the guns with me.
Daddy: Of course we can shoot the guns when I get home!

DJ: Hello, is this Mackenna's daddy?
Telemarketers: NO, may I speak to your mommy or daddy?
DJ: No, can I speak to Mackenna?
Telemarketers: *getting very frustrated that this residence has allowed their toddler to answer the phone* May I speak to your mommy or daddy?
DJ: My mommy is shaking her head right now. Bye Bye.

Love it! I should use that telemarketing trick. It's election day can I have my toddler talk to the candidates who keep calling?

Thanks for sharing. I am having a gloomy day right now and that totally cheered me up!
you better tell DJ not to make promises to girls that he can't keep. it's a bad habit. :)
I haven't seen a three year old in a looooooooong time. Reading your blog makes me crave the company of children!
I have a brother who is a decade younger than me. When he was three he used to tell the longest stories that would last and last and last. He was so cute then. What happened?

LOL!!!!! Let me borrow DJ! I get so many unwanted calls and I refuse to add an extra $5 a month to my phone bill to block them! $5 goes a long way at Walmart!
