Here's what happens when you give in to your toddler!

Wednesday is my son's group time for show and tell day at Tiny Tots.
He usually picks out what he wants to bring for his presentation.
It's usually a stuffed animal, racing car, a book, a calculator.

Last week he decided to bring his Fisher Price Digital Camera.
The mommy alarm went off and I wasn't too happy about the idea.
Without drowning his dreams, I tried to sway him to bring something else.
I offered to help him find something else other than the camera.
He was set on bringing the camera.  We had 5 minutes to get to class.  I gave in.

Fast forward to after class.

When we got in the car, I noticed the backpack he went to class with, wasn't the backpack he went to school with.   There are 4 other kids in his class with the same exact backpack.  *sigh*
I replaced his other bag with this one because Darrin said the other bag looked like a girl's backpack (the straps were purple)--

Do you see where I'm going with this?

Well, you guessed it.  DJ didn't come home with HIS backpack.  You know the backpack with the CAMERA inside of it.  Panic sets in.  I race back to the room to ask the teacher if she would call the parent of the backpack owner to see if in fact there has been a switch.

She called me later on that day to confirm the backpack was indeed with the other parent and they will bring the backpack on the next day of school.  Whew!  That was a close call.

Do you think I told Darrin what happened that day?  NO WAY.  Why?  Because he would have said, "Why in the world would you allow a 3 year old to bring an expensive item to school anyway?"  I didn't need the pressure so, I decided to wait until I had the camera back in my possession to tell him what happened.   He didn't bother to say, told you so.  I'm sure he wanted to but, could tell from my ordeal, I had suffered enough.

A lesson learned.

I just love how cute he looks walking with his backpack on! I will stop hear before I go saying "I told you so!" :P

You take great photos, I love the views you take... and I would have let him take it too... and then kept it to myself when he lost it.

just sayin.
