I'm standing in line waiting to rent a DVD from the Redbox kiosk.
I was standing off to the side (to avoid blocking the walkway) a young lady and her mom walk in and proceed to stand directly behind the guy checking out his video at the kiosk.
I let them know I am in line, and that I'm just off to the side to avoid blocking the walkway. The young lady says, Ok and the mom says..well, we just want to return a DVD. Did I hear a slight hint of sarcasm from her? I believe I did. The fact that she started off her little remark with the word WELL told me she wasn't trying to be on her best behavior.
Question: How do you think it went down? If you were ME what would you have done?

Me would have said "Okay, you can return yours as soon as I finish my transaction". Me would have been thinking..."Oh so what am I here for? My health, scenic decoration, WTH woman do you not speak English"
I would have said that's fine, but I AM NEXT IN LINE.
If I were in a pissed off mood I'd probably force my way in before they could be next. But if I was happy that day I'd just let them do their thing and then go after them. I only get pissed off if I'm in a hurry or I've been waiting a long time myself. :)

I am usually very polite, but if someone starts off with an attitude with me then I tend to come back at them with an attitude. What went down next would have depended on my mood I'm afraid.

I'd have told her [with just the right amount of base in my face] that she could have kept her reasoning because if I were interested in knowing what she was there for I would have asked...
I would have reminded her that it doesn't matter WHAT she was there for...she still had to get in line juuuuust like the rest of us.
[Please know however that it may have been suggested a time or two that I give some serious consideration to anger management classes] LOL

Did you say, "Oh well that's fine. I already know what movie I'm getting, so you won't have to wait long to return yours"? Because I'm thinking that's what would have come out of my mouth - assuming I was in a pleasant mood.
