Now, WHAT?

Little boy w/his parent (age 1-2) comes up to my daughter (age 3) and takes a toy out of her hand. The dad didn't say anything. Gracen comes over to me. I told her to go and speak up for herself. She said, hey! Give me my toy back! Snatches the toy and the dad says, he just wanted to play with it. *sigh* here we go! How would, YOU as the place of BOTH parents have handled it?

What in the world??? I would hope that if that happened to me I would have said to him, "then you have to teach him how to ask for things that don't belong to him and not just take them". I have been in his shoes and I tell Kalissa INSTANTLY that the toy isn't hers and to give it back and that she can ASK to play with it. Home training starts at HOME. sheesh! Sooo ummm...what did YOU say? :)

After seventeen years of motherhood and dealing with children and parents, I would probably have told my child to let him play with it for a while and assure him/her that she would get it back. Nevertheless, Gracen seemed to handle it just the way she wanted to! LOL! You go girl and good on you Tanyetta for teaching her to fight her own mini battle for there are surely more to come!
