I went to the
happiest place on earth for a quick run. Is that really possible? Going to
the happiest place on earth for a quick run? Anyway, I told DJ "as soon as we're done, we'll get popcorn on the way out." Why didn't I buy the popcorn BEFOREHAND to keep him busy? Well, needless to say, the snack bar was CLOSED by the time we got to the front.
I went over and asked the lady if I could have one of the 5 trillion left over bags of popcorn.
She said, I'm sorry, I can't, we're closed. I proceeded to walk away and that's when DJ fell OUT on the ground and started balling. Full on tears, sobbing for popcorn. **Cue the Calgon
commercial. I'll exit stage left now!
I gave her a silent look as if to say,
if you don't give me a bag of popcorn, all hell will break loose!! Help me out please!
Needless to say, the lady gave us two bags. I tell her Thank you!!! Thank you!!!!!! Here's the best part---There was another lady there with her kid staring us down and she gave me a nice nasty look, as if to say, "My little Johnny would never have a tantrum like that. Especially NOT in public."
After I MEAN MUGGED her, I should've said, "What is your problem? Why the hell are you staring me down Miss Perfect Mom?" Listen, You better watch it, your "perfect Johnny might be the next cereal (i spelled it that way on purpose) killer and well......nevermind!
Now do you see why I need to go to therapy ONCE a week to work on my anger issues?
I could've done a stint in the
metal room for some popcorn. Some popcorn? *sigh*
Question-When was the last time your child performed dramatically/tantrums in public? When was the last time you felt like you were going to lose your mind? How did you handle it?
